Walking on Fire for Cancer
Cabaret vs Cancer hosted its second annual "Fire Walk With Me" event, challenging participants to walk barefoot across 20 feet of wood embers burning at 1,236 degrees Fahrenheit.
Cabaret vs Cancer, a UK-based charity, has been making a significant impact since 2016 by supporting individuals and families affected by cancer. Through world-class cabaret and burlesque performances, the organisation raises funds to assist those dealing with a cancer diagnosis and collaborates with child bereavement teams in local hospices to provide essential tools and resources for children coping with the loss of a loved one.
On March 2nd, 2025, the charity hosted its second annual "Fire Walk With Me" event, challenging participants to walk barefoot across 20 feet of wood embers burning at 1,236 degrees Fahrenheit. This exhilarating event not only tested the courage of its participants but also served as a powerful metaphor for the bravery exhibited by those affected by cancer daily.
The event saw remarkable support, with 35 fundraising pages receiving 400 donations, raising over £13,000 for Cost of Cancer.
Participants like Swannee expressed deep gratitude for joining the event, stating, "I simply want to play a role, even if a small part, into helping those affected by cancer and their families, by showing courage and strength, as they do on a daily basis."
Cabaret vs Cancer continues to inspire and support those affected by cancer through their innovative fundraising efforts and dedication to the community.
