Growing Food, Growing Community, Growing Together
Locally known as the "Campy Growers," they are Dundee's largest community garden, with eight acres dedicated to sustainable food production and supporting local wildlife. Their site features two large polytunnels brimming with tomatoes, a variety of beans, beetroot, salads, and a wide range of vegetables. Primarily run by volunteers, they have the capacity to produce significant quantities of fresh, local food right in the heart of the city. Beyond gardening, they offer educational programs, cooking classes, film nights, outdoor activities, and provide fresh, healthy, and accessible produce to the community.
Situated in Camperdown Country Park, in partnership with Dundee City Council, they are transforming a previously neglected area into a vibrant, thriving community space. Their mission is to:
- Promote health and wellbeing
- Foster environmental improvement
- Advance education and skills, particularly around food cultivation, cooking, and nutrition.
